These terms and conditions govern your use of the Inishbofin Island Hostel website and your stay at our hostel and campsite. By making a booking or using our facilities, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Booking & Reservations

  • All bookings are made by telephone (+353 95 45855) or email (info@inishbofin-hostel.ie).
  • Advance booking is advised, and a deposit may be required to confirm your reservation.
  • A booking is only confirmed once you have received confirmation from us and any required deposit has been paid.
  • Please inform us at the time of booking of any special requirements, accessibility needs or dietary considerations.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the date of arrival to receive a full refund of any deposit paid.
  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before arrival may result in the loss of your deposit.
  • No-shows will forfeit the full deposit.
  • We recommend that guests take out appropriate travel insurance to cover cancellations, particularly as ferry services to Inishbofin may be affected by weather conditions.

Check-in & Check-out

  • Check-out time is 10:30am on the day of departure.
  • Late check-out may be available upon request, subject to availability.
  • The hostel is open all day from Easter to the 1st of October.

Prices

  • All prices are quoted in Euros and are per night unless otherwise stated.
  • Prices are subject to change without notice. The price confirmed at the time of booking will be honoured.

Children & Age Requirements

  • All ages are welcome at our hostel.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Parents and guardians are responsible for the supervision and behaviour of their children.

House Rules

For the comfort and safety of all guests, the following rules must be observed. A full list is also available on our Contact page.

  1. No smoking within the building.
  2. No food or drink (tea, coffee, alcohol) to be consumed in the bedrooms or sitting room.
  3. Please wash, dry and return dishes, cutlery, pots and pans to their proper place.
  4. Please keep the kitchen area clean.
  5. Our fridges are for food only. No beer or wine is to be stored there.
  6. In the interest of quiet, we ask guests to take showers before 11pm.
  7. We ask guests to keep as quiet as possible after 11pm and before 8am.

Group Bookings

All groups must pay a security deposit of €50 per person. This is fully refundable provided no disturbance is caused and no damage is done to the property.

Alcohol Policy

We do not have a problem with guests sharing a bottle of wine or a beer with their meals. However, we do not permit guests to arrive with excessive amounts of alcohol. Guests who cause disturbance due to alcohol consumption will be asked to leave. This is not a party hostel.

Liability

  • Guests are responsible for their own personal belongings. The hostel accepts no liability for any loss, theft or damage to guests' property.
  • Guests will be held liable for any damage caused to hostel property during their stay.
  • The hostel is not liable for any injury sustained on the premises, except where caused by our negligence.

Animals & Pets

No animals or pets are allowed in the hostel.

Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure to provide services due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to adverse weather conditions, ferry cancellations, natural disasters, or government restrictions. We strongly recommend travel insurance for all guests, as ferry services to Inishbofin Island are weather-dependent.

Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
